Dennis is trying to get info from the Baltimore Omni/Wyndham hotel but it does not look good at this time with regard to the space theyve given us. He will have more information later.
Secretary Cindy Jones
Cindy re-sent the minutes of the delegates meeting in word format since few could open the wordperfect document. John asked if the minutes could be cut/pasted into the body of an e-mail.
Treasurer Dave Adkins
Dave reported that several new members joined at MACNA 12 and three after the conference for a total membership of 16.
The MASNA treasury has a balance of $4,700.00. Nancy asked Dave to have a monthly summary of income and expenses.
Nancy noted that NO money was spent on membership last year, meaning we need to have a membership drive. Nancy also noted that the lack of a MASNA booth at MACNA hurt us this year. Joe proposed a direct mail personal invitation. Nancy will put together a welcome packet for all members and will handle membership until a permanent replacement can be found. Motion carried. Dave to send Nancy all membership data turned in at MACNA.
Editor Joe Jones
Joe has a commitment for two articles for the next Marine Scene, but has not received them as of this date. Nancy will submit some material.
Joe asked if we should go back to mailing a hardcopy as well as an electronic version on the web page. Dave suggested we ask each member how they wanted to receive their copy of the Marine Scene. Nancy replied that they would not respond but asked if e-mail would work which was ok by Dave. Joe wants to mail a hardcopy and moved that we revert back to hard copy. The motion was seconded by Dave and carried. Nancy requested that the non-profits also receive a copy of the Marine Scene.
MAC/USCRTF Rep John Brandt
"The MASNA/MAC lunch meeting on Sunday October 1,2000 was attended by Paul Holthus (Director of MAC), John Brandt ( MAC representative) and Dennis Gallagher (Vice president). Paul emphasized that MASNAS support of MAC is important and that he looks forward to working with myself and MASNA in the future.
Two initial areas were explored whereby MASNA would assist MAC in getting information to the Marine hobbyists.
Having regular installments of MAC news and information in the newsletter and website will bring MAC and its mission to the attention of clubs and individuals. Secondly, Paul suggested that we establish a pledge in support of MAC.
Thanks to Dennis Gallagher for his assistance and generous support. His continued involvement will be much appreciated. John will send quarterly updates to be published in the Marine Scene.

New Business:
Online meetings will continue to be held on the second Wednesday of each month at 9:00 p.m. ET
Nancy stated that AMDA has requested a skills Questionnaire to be distributed to our members which she will put online to see what the response is. This was approved by all present.
Should our database be released to Marine Ornamentals with the strict condition that it not be released to anyone else? Dave and Cindy disagreed citing confidentiality. Dennis noted that about a month after Marine Ornamentals 1999 a list was sent to all attendees listing names and addresses. Do we want that? Vote NO Dennis will give Marine Ornamentals the boards decision.
Nancy would like to offer clubs the opportunity to have their leftover MACNA T-shirts and videos listed for sale in our shopping cart. NO money would be exchanged since all orders would require manual credit card processing by the club. Vote YES
Larry will present his fundraising ideas at a later date.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:20 p.m. ET.
Respectfully submitted,
Cindy Jones
