MASNA's
purpose is to:

  • Educate our members with quarterly newsletters, the MACNA conference, and other sanctioned events

Did welcome mailing to all clubs and individuals with copies of delegates meeting minutes.Sent copies to BOD.

Invited Ron Shimek to sit on Scholarship Advisory Panel

Waiting for Larry’s report before contacting Martin Moe

Worked on M13 hotel problem

Scholarship pledges from Walt Smith and Suk Choo Kim to be used for scholarship

Balance is just under $14,000.00. MACNA netted about $9,000.00

MAC/USCRTF Rep – John Brandt

MAC has nearly completed ‘Core’ standards and Best Practices guidelines MAC set time frames for implementation of their goals: ‘core standards’ Ecosystem management, collection and fishing, handling and transport. Should be available on MAC website by April 30, 2001. Objection to the pledge proposed by MAC.

Did routine maintenance and updates

Set up message sections for clubs on discussion board

New Business:

Will Nancy replace the resignations? Yes, if she can find them. Pam Goudge asked about editor job.

Goals and Priorities: BOD members to come up with summary of what goals and priorities should be for the coming year.

Nancy is waiting for confirmation of Reefs sponsorship of $20.00 per month. Carried at $20.00/mo.

No announcement of bids until a firm decision on hotels. Dennis and Dave to develop set of guidelines for those interested in bidding.
