It turns out these BRS people might be interested in hosting a MACNA sometime. 6) MAC/USCRTF (John Brandt) Well really I don't have one yet on USCRTF. I've been so busy with work. And now you know I moderate the Industry forum at RDO, so I've been paying attention to that until I'm caught up. They are also about to christen me RDO Task Force. MAC news is mostly that the certification of several new sites is moving along, maybe in July. But I wanted to mention something from the MAC BOD meeting I was at in Washington. We have concerns about the costs of a retailer to get certified. It can be expensive since it is ISO Certification. We are looking at various ways to make it affordable for virtually any budget. A small store should still be able to afford MAC Certification, or it defeats its own purpose. A point of sale software system to track MAC data is also in the works. It will actually run the whole store. Part of the cash register price scanner computer system. MAC is working on ways to set a store up with this software and equipment very affordable. Free has been discussed. I can say a few things about the POS. There was also some discussion regarding holding pens, link to article can be found here: http://reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=28374&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=80 7) LMAS on MACNA XV (Kelly Jedlicki) We have picked up about 15 more registrations. IRS is still "working" on our tax ID papers. They said it should be completed in "60 - 120 days". It has already been 42, but who is counting. Logo is completed thanks to Scott Michael & Nancy! Speakers: Nancy, right now we have 2 from Hawaii and possibly a surprise international speaker, but we won't know for another month so we do not want to say anything yet. Report was followed by open discussion regarding prior MACNA events. Motion to adjourn at 10:14 PM by Chuck, seconded by Nancy. Carried.
