On April 1, 2011, Ecotech introduced their new Coral Glue to the market: A triple distilled, super strong, quick-setting cyanoacrylate gel sold in a squeeze bottle with an ingenious non-clog tip. The glue was initially only available in a large 295ml bottle. Ecotech is now offering their Coral glue in a smaller 75ml bottle.

Asbestopluma hypogea is to sponges what the Venus Fly Trap is to plants. Unlike the vast majority of sponges that filter feed, this rare carnivorous poriferan captures small crustaceans using filaments covered with hook-like spicules ... like velcro! The recent discovery of this rare species in the Mediterranean has prompted conservation measures.

Green corals can be both beautiful and fascinating, but their overabundance in the aquarium hobby has led many reef tanks to be dominated by a single color. Answer: VERY. A recent study published in PLoS ONE concludes that when cleaner wrasses are removed from a reef, reef fishes were much smaller, much less abundant, and much less diverse. If their high captive mortality rates weren't reason enough to dissuade aquarists from purchasing cleaner wrasses, this study should convince everyone why they should never be collected.

Hobbyists have seen significant advancements in the range of aquarium circulation pumps available over the past decade. While all manufacturers provide a flow rate for the pumps, it is not clear what methods have been used to arrive at the numbers. Further, different manufacturers may use different methods. We have presented a standard method that we hope can be adopted by the manufacturers thus enabling a more accurate and verifiable approach.
