Greetings fellow hobbyist!

Wow! This year is flying by. It just seems to sneak up on you and before you know it, time has just slipped away. This year has been especially busy and there are a lot of things still left to do. New programs like “MASNA Speaks”, new member incentives, contests to get in place, and much more. Some of which I am sure we have let slip through the cracks. We plan to have these in place by MACNA XXI. This will be our time to announce many of these new and exciting programs. Provided we can get them all implemented in time.

That is the purpose for this email. I am sure that you have all felt this same passage of time. We have all been busy and maybe some things may have just slipped past. It is my hope that these little reminders can help.

MASNA Membership and Renewals

For many members it is almost that time of year when our membership expires. Reminders about membership renewal will be sent out to those expiring in the next week or so. It is our hope that you will renew your membership, simply because you support MASNA and what we are trying to accomplish. However, if you need a little incentive we are going to have a contest. All current and newly paid members will be entered to win a Fluval Edge tank. The drawing will be held on October 1st, so make sure your membership is up to date in order to win. To check your expiration date or member status, login to the site and click on Join MASNA! The dates of your membership will be displayed along with your level of membership. 

MASNA Board of Directors Nominations

The nomination process for the MASNA Board of Directors elections is now open. If you are interested in running for the BOD, please fill out the nomination form located at

You must be a MASNA individual member to run for a position.

This year we are also adding an additional step in the process. There will be a topic in the Members Only forums called “Ask the Nominee”. This will allow for Q&A of perspective nominees. So make sure you check the forums so you can be involved. Nominations will be open until 8/31/2009. The election will be at the annual meeting during MACNA XXI.

MASNA Website Awards

This is to remind you that our Annual Club Website Award judging will take place starting August 1st. Awards will be based on artistic appeal, links, and quality and timeliness of content.

In order to qualify, you must be displaying the current MASNA and MACNA XXI logos with links on your home page. Please link them to www.masna.org and www.macnaXXI.com respectively. If you haven't already done this, I have included links to the graphics below. Downsizing is okay provided they don’t lose too much quality.

If you are not your club’s webmaster, please pass this on so that your club won't be overlooked. Awards will be presented at the Saturday night banquet of MACNA XXI. Feel free to contact us if you should have any questions. Good luck and we look forward to seeing all of you in Atlantic City!
