Is there a place that I can go to obtain a list fish that are not to be sold in pet stores?

Brian, I guess one should ask, do you mean illegal to sell in stores and NOT to be sold or should not be sold in stores. Here is a subjective fish that should not be sold in stores for various reasons. http://www.aquariumpros.com/article...list.shtml

Bob Fenner's book "The Conscientious Marine Aquarist" addresses this question. The problem with any such list is maintaining them as there are always new developments and breakthroughs. For instance, that website lists the Orange-Spot Filefish (Oxynonacanthus longirostris) although recently Matt Pedersen has been able to successfully keep them in captivity, get them to breed, and even raise the babies! This is a fish that was always destined to die in captivity and Matt along with a few others are unlocking the secrets to keeping these beauties.
